About Us
THE Oakland Volleyball Program (formerly Starlings Oakland)
Our volleyball program has been around for over 25 years, and the only change for 2024 is our name. We have the same commitment to providing volleyball programming to inner-city girls who would otherwise not have the opportunity to participate in club volleyball at the Junior Olympic level.
We provide an affordable volleyball program and we primarily serve youth attending school in Oakland, with a priority for Oakland Unified School District. Our season generally runs from January to June, competing in the Northern California Volleyball Association (NCVA) of USA Volleyball (USAV). The NCVA/USAV full youth membership is approximately $77, and allows attendance at sanctioned tryouts, activities, and participation on a team.
Our Program
The Oakland Volleyball Program is made up of dedicated professionals and volunteers who are passionate about making a difference in our volleyball community. Most club volleyball teams that provide similar services for the full six-month club season, have fees that range from $4,000 to $8,000. Our fees are significantly less and we exclude no girl due to financial hardship.

In November, we offer skills & drills clinics for players to come out and demonstrate their abilities. Players get to show us their commitment to learn about The Oakland Volleyball Program and the opportunity to play club volleyball at the Junior Olympic level.
